This tour takes you to the heart of Cyprus, the Troodos
mountain range, home to numerous small villages where life
has remained virtually unchanged for Omodhos, built around
one of the most ancient monasteries in Cyprus, the Holy
Cross. This is also one of the best wine producing villages
where traditional white stone buildings line the narrow
cobbled streets. Further up the mountainside lies the village
of Galata, which we shall also visit, its two Byzantine
Churches dominating the landscape. From there it’s just
a short drive to Kakopetria, a popular mountain resort,
where we shall stop for lunch and warder round the village
and its traditional old quarter. We shall then return to
Paphos via Lania, a beautiful little village, well known
for its resident artists. |
