Tourism Awareness Training Program for Hotel Personnel
One-day training program outline
Title: Promoting the tourist infrastructure of the local country to hotel employees.

Targeted audience: Managerial and supervisory personnel of the hotel that - as it is the nature of the work - come with direct contact with hotel quests.
Also additional positions that require customer service are the executives of departments such as public relations, sales, reception, catering, bar, and housekeeping.

Duration of training program: 8 hours.

     
               
                           
The Significance of the Training Seminar:
It has been reported in many cases that hotel personnel are lacking particular knowledge and skills in projecting the tourist infrastructure of their country to hotel customers. This training program aims to provide the necessary knowledge and professionalism to the hotel personnel in addressing customers’ requests and questions regarding travel services and travel information.
     

Goals of the training program

   
  It is expected that after the completion of the program, hotel employees will be able to:
       
 
  • Develop professionalism.
  • Provide accurate information for the given tourist infrastructure of the area and in more
    general of the country.
  • Affectively addressing customers questions.
  • Respectfully address travel inquiries in respect to guests’ interests,
    preferences, and needs.
  • Create a feeling of satisfaction through the providence of specific information to
    customers for a better use of their free time while vacationing in the given country.
   
                                         
The overall training seminar:

- Will provide the participants with informational material they can take with them.
- Will use equipment for illustrations such as, video and transparencies.
- Employees will participate in the lecture in a form of discussion, ask questions, and perform some role playing.
- Will take attendance.
- Will provide a certificate of participation.

 
   
Description of the one-day training program
8:30-10:30 Introduction- Illustration of the program’s goals
Show advertising travel video of the country – duration 15 minutes.
Briefly addressing major historical events of the country.
Available travel services for guests.

10:30 -10:45 Break

10:45 -12:45 Illustrating transparencies of major tourist attractions, and major cities.

12:45 -13:45 Lunch

13:45 -15:45 Cont. illustrating major attractions and exploring other possible destinations.
Educate participants for tourism of special interests.

15:45 -16:00 Break

16:00 -18:00 Comments and Discussion

                                   
  In the training seminar we provide illustrations from films, transparencies, and advertising booklets of incoming and outgoing tourism and there is always a carried out discussion.
